Back to School Blues

It has arrived... The day I have been dreading anticipating all summer. Was it really 10 weeks ago I was packing up my room and dreaming of sleeping in and tanning and vacations?!?!
I've got my clothes for the week ironed and ready to go. My classroom is put together. The lesson plans are done. Now I just need to get rid of the knot in my stomach!!

180 days and counting...

Ryan and I spent all last week in Newport with his family. All of this siblings were able to make it. It was so fun to have the whole fam together. We spent every day at the beach. It was so relaxing to just veg on the beach. I spent some time reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn -highly recommend it!

As much as I love being on vacay there is something to be said about sleeping in your own bed. It was nice to get home and get back into a routine. One more full week of freedom and then the dog days of summer are over for this school teacher!

one year down...

We were in Newport on the 8th with Ryan's family, so we took a couple of hours and went out. We went to this yummy French bistro for breakfast, and then went on a gondola ride through the bay and saw some really nice homes!!In keeping with tradition we broke out the top of our wedding cake that has been int he freezer since our wedding day. It actually wasn't that bad. It tasted a little frost bitten. We each had a bite to say we did it, but one was enough. Hard to believe it's been a whole year!!
