Home Sweet Home

Ok, so I have been on some what of a blogging break. Between working, and looking for a house, grading papers, buying a house, life has been a little busy. But....I am back!! We are pretty much all moved into our house! And I LOVE it. (Pictures are coming soon.) We spent two weekends in a row painting. An entire week moving and cleaning and finally it has become our home. We went from a small 1 bedroom apartment to a three bedroom house so our furniture doesn't exactly fill up the house. But great things come to those who wait, right?! I know we will eventually fill in the house over time, but I want it all now!!

We took advantage of "Black Friday" and went out to buy a kitchen table at RC Willy's. We have been looking at it for a couple months and almost got it a while back. It is a good thing we didn't because we got a killer deal on it yesterday. We also got a new fridge, washer and dryer. So the next step is accumulating furniture...

21st Century Technology

So, I have had the same cell phone for the past 3 and a half years. It has been great for me. I can make and receive calls and texts, and that's all I need. It is not the coolest looking cell phone (it has an antenna -a broken antenna and it looks like a brick) Ryan makes fun of me all the time and I am starting to get embarrassed taking it out in public, especially in front of my students (they have cooler phones than I do). But it worked and new ones can cost a lot of money. Anyway, the other day I was out running errands and decided to stop by the Sprint store since it was right around the corner. I really wasn't planning on getting a new phone. I was definitely up for an up grade! I told the guy working there I wanted a more up-to-date phone. When I showed the employee my phone he laughed at me and said, "Anything you get will be an update from that!" Ten minutes later I walked out of the store with a new phone. It may not be the lastest and greatest phone out there, but I am pretty excited. Pictures are below. You be the judge....

So, I have finally decided to do it....I am going to run a half-marathon. It is my goal to run a marathon one day, so running a half is my first step towards that goal. I am putting it in writing so hopefully it will make me more likely to actually do it. The Las Vegas Half Marathon is December 6. So, ask me how I am going on my training to keep me accountable!!
